I am a bibliophile - of course, you may have already grasped that. I regularly raid shelves of my local libraries for golden oldies as well as spend numerous dollars on the latest tomes in my areas of interest from Amazon.com.
A few months ago I bought Yoga Secrets for Business Success: Reduce Stress, Improve Performancey Darshan Singh Khalsa. I was Intrigued by the author's experience in teaching Kundalini yoga (defined in the book as the "yoga of awareness) techniques to business executives to improve their productivity, performance, boost their creativity, and break bad habits through various yoga techniques. The book offers a comprehensive set of yoga poses, meditations, and breath work to help the business person in such areas and enhance decision making and communication.
I have not yet finished reading this quite dense book. However, I can say that the author, a highly experienced yoga instructor and practitioner, offers very practical, fairly easy-to-follow instructions on yoga remedies for insomnia, headaches, overcoming bad habits, conquering depression, and gaining greater clarity and focus.
Interestingly, although the author strongly cautions the reader that "because Kundalini yoga is effective and precise in its effects, it must be taught by a qualified teacher," his book teaches numerous yoga techniques for you to do on your own. They are worth a try and I believe if you're a bibliophile like me, the book is a good investment.
Yoga Quotation of the Day: "The first step in any practice of yoga...is to tune into the wisdom within you for guidance and direction." ~ Darshan Singh Shalsa
